Howdy Folks!
I have a very beat up and ugly Janssen & Sons side by side 12 gauge that I was lucky enough to acquire from my Grandfather. I am well aware that they are made with ribbon steel "Damascus" barrels and as such should not fire modern loadings. My goal is to refinish and made this shotgun functional again and have for a nice wall-hanger.
The biggest issue with my project is that one of the hammers is missing, and the other is broken. I have managed to track down a machinist who is interested in taking on the project in his spare time, but I don't have a clear picture of what the original hammers used to look like.
So I'm curious if anyone else out there has one intact still that could possibly snap a few pictures for me and take some measurements to get this little project moving in the right direction again!
