Japanese Type 44 Carbines, Rare in Canada?

Well, rare in general really. And because anything Japanese is tough to find in Canada, so much the rarer here.

Not to change the subject, but is the Mauser 2nd from right a Mexican 1910?

I have seen them often in the bigger US Gunshows, but never seen one for sale in Canada.

Good eye, it is an FN contract M1924 Mexican Cavalry carbine. 7X57 Mauser with a 15 inch barrel, the handiest little rifle you can imagine!!!!
 
That 44 is awesome!!!!

Thank you Sir. It is a Series Two. There are three collector designations based on the three types of folding bayonet mounts. Of the approximately 91000 M44s produced, only about 9000 were the Series Two, which makes it quite unusual, especially in Canada.
