Japanese variable banners any good?

I see these for sale periodically and there are some on EE right now. My concern is are they as durable as vintage scope Chiefs?How is clarity? I remember having a 2.5 Japanese banner years ago and, while it was not a high end scope, afaik it is still going.thanks

Most Japanese scopes are decent.... I bought a few of those NIB old stock 1.5-4x20 Banners Tradex had listed last year for $50... nice and bright and clear, one sitting on an 8x57 with no issues, other is on a Savage 99 in .308 with no issues.

Hmm, 50 bucks eh? Damn I wish I had seen that sale lol
