Jard semi , 3wks away.

That's a lot of money to shell out, to help with R&D or QA. I would want to buy a solid rifie, not help hem proof the market and make improvements on my dime.

True but theres always those guys that want something just to be different. Or be the ones who say "I have it first", people are weird like that.

Either way every gun that is legally brought into Canada is good gun.

Well, they've got my attention. But I agree that a torture test has to be completed and I'd like to see one run to 10,000 rds before i could trade out my mini 14. Old faithful hasn't failed me yet.

might be as interesting to me as a JR carbine or a su16
serious contender as a rifle in the ranks of the Tavor or ACR? certainly not, lots to prove, and in the price range of the MR1 it has a whole lot to prove.
But hey Im keeping an open mind and waiting to be impressed.
We have some good shooters here, that write very unbiased reviews, why not just lend them the gun for 3 months and see. I don't understand what they expect from sane consumers? buy something no one has ever heard of for 1400$? I don't get it. I bought a JR carbine once, regretted it pretty much every single day, complete crap.

....talking to the manufacturer.... I told him about CGN, he seemed really interested in that. I don't think the Canadian market for NR black guns was explained to him. He definitely was very interested......... He's really interested in feedback from here, like what do you want to see , becoming available from him.

Why not send the link and have him contact CGN Admin to sign on as a business member? If he truly is interested in breaking into the Canadian market CGN would certainly be of help for that.

1) he can get feedback on demand much like M14.ca is doing with the T97 upper & lower projects
2) he can learn a lot about the firearms "issues" in Canada
3) get instant exposure to 120k+ firearm enthusiast
4) organize a group buy / presale of the product once mods are done to the consumer's liking

Just my $0.02

I've explained the issues ,regarding the NR semi as best I could , I was only trying to get a bit of info for myself and decided to share what was told to me. As I'm new at the sport, I'm sure someone with more knowledge of firearms, would have gotten more out of the conversations. He has expressed interest in CGN. I don't think the company is fully aware of our issues and wants , regarding a NR semi black rifle. I will send him an email with the CGN link, but if anyone would like to contact him, all they have to do is call, like I did. The only updates now, would be whoever buys one from extreme , or ( I thought he said Jo brooks) . There also may be another way to get one, if someone really wanted one.

Well we're not going to do his economics, accounting, market research and advertising for him now?
Right?
So that being said, yes there is a market in Canada for particular firearms, but the market is spread over a vast territory which increases costs. While even the smallest state in the USA will present JARD with a better market with much lower costs.

So depends what he wants to do, does he want to be the only unique ar15 like firearm to be NR in Canada? That would be a great opportunity, but his design aesthetics would need serious revisions.

But if he wants to sell an ar15 like "somewhat" rifle he should seriously jump on this forum as a vendor, and start giving some specs and answering some technical questions, sooner rather than later. This 3rd party ive heard from my aunt's cousin is a bit annoying.

image.jpgI think it's hard for them to compete in the AR market , in the US,as there are already a ton of reputable manufacturers. I think they know of the opportunities here. Anyway , here's a pic of an email, sent to me today.

I look forward to the release of this rifle.

Good to see more new non restricted designs in Canada.

If AR ever went NR, none of the 6 or 7 NR black rifles would be sold. I've been on here for a little over a year, haven't missed one day. I see what the majority is chasing . Apparence go a long way, reliability, accuracy. I've seen 2 rifles in the last yr that comes close, but is still not on the market. This Jard though not exactly like an AR, is the closest yet , in.223 . If 2 moa and the price is right, it's better than most other options. You can use AR compatable parts, what more are you looking for? We,re barely able to use 25 rnd mags in our .22 . I think you got a better chance f Ucking the Queen , than seeing the AR go NR , anytime soon.:)
