I really enjoy shooting my Stag-10, but the Magpul MOE collapsible stock does not do much in terms of softening the blow to the jaw/face. Any accesories that can be added to improve that? Not really looking at doing a bubba job or changing the look.. BTW, this is what my setup looks like, with a medium height mount.

The above posts are explaining what can be done to soften that blow. You're experiencing what you are because you have to burry your face into the stock to look through the optic properly. By raising the optic, you can raise your head up. Look at why so many bolt guns offer the adjustability they do - proper stock fit plays a huge part in proper recoil management, and ultimately comfort.

Thank you for your responses but the rifle was purchased this way, shoots perfect this way, I got used to it this way, not really looking to really change this setup.

You asked this "Any accesories that can be added to improve that?" people told you that higher scope mounts would help you and your saying no your not willing to change this setup. So I wonder if your not going to take peoples advice or change anything on your rifle then what do you expect to happen? I don't think there is any magic part that can be added that will help with your current setup, unless your willing to make changes

Personally I shoot cross eye dominant so I have my scope mounted really high, on 1.93" high mount, that allows me to shoot without burying my cheek into the stock like mentioned above. Otherwise with regular height mounts I get the same problem your having

Other then that I prefer stocks with a bigger cheek rest, but with your low scope mounts that would make things even worse IMO.

If you dont want to get rid of your mounts and want to try a higher setup, on some of my rifles I run a rail riser under regular height mounts, you can get some pretty cheap try it and see if you like it, if not just take it off and go back to what you have now

Thanks for your reply, I was thinking about a rail riser, but before buying I figured I shoul still post here and ask.

If i am right the stag 10 are over gassed --> they kick & eject the brass quite far.
If you reload your own ammunition, you could find a mild load that eject brass softly at 2 feet max & give you a soft recoil.

You are not right, they are not over-gassed at all. The factory barrel 308 gas port is as small as it can be while allowing the rifle to function when new. Using light power 7.62x51 ammo may require a good lube until the rifle is broken in, because, it is not over-gassed.

Reducing the recoil may help a slight amount but that’s just masking the issue, and that’s the scope being too low.

You could buy rings for 50 bucks, bore sight the thing by looking down the barrel and aligning the scope, and be zeroed within $10 worth of ammo.

Or you could spend $300 on a brake and armaspec (although I wouldn’t consider one, JP SCS all the way) and maybe improve the symptoms, but not the issue.

I guess I don’t quite get it but it could work.

What is a good place to get rings/mount for this rifle?

Vortex rings, $50-$60 bucks for the pair and they can be found at most stocking dealers in Canada.

Google is your friend

Cabelas or any decent gun shop should have a few different sets of rings at different price points. You could also consider a cantilevered AR mount as you seem to have your stock way extended, that would get the scope up and forwards (but long length of pull may be working for you) You don’t even need bases, just rings that mount direct to a picatinny/weaver rail.

A scope riser would work too if you want to do this on the cheap, but they look bubba and you wanted to avoid that.
