So my feet have pretty much healed and its time to get back out hunting again. Tonight I finish packing, tomorrow I pick up a sheep and caribou tag and head north as fast as I can. Next stop: Muskwa-Kechika!

Primary goal: spend a maximum number of days in the backcountry.
Secondary goal: have a great time hunting with great people.
Tertiary goal: bring home a sheep and/or caribou. :D

First week will be spent in a wall tent with a fine CGNer and his wife glassing for sheep and opportunistically hunting caribou. Week two my wife flies in and we head into the backcountry to get serious about the sheep!

Added bonus: I splurged this week on new Kenetrek boots for the missus and I. Dumber than a bag of hammers to break in boots in the field but tough luck for me- its done. Being able to saddle my missus with an extra 40lbs of meat and not worry about a twisted ankle will make it all worthwhile. :p

Good luck! Hope it works out better than our hunt! lol It will be awesome regardless of the outcome.

If my hunt goes like yours I will be thrilled. This hunt is not to fill my freezer, its to restore my soul.

I'll be in the same area, 7-51, Grizzly draw. Good luck and happy hunting guys.
I'm hoping then that you shoot a grizz and I don't! Best of luck.

Make sure you take lots of moleskin for the blisters, and have a great hunt.
I am very envious but I will enjoy the pictures when you return.

Partial success. Weather was less than perfect which led to a lack of sheep seen and the caribou not being in rut. After week one we made the decision to make the very long drive back to the south end of the province to chase my LEH goat.

Secondary goal: have a great time hunting with great people.
Partial success. Leaving to head south cut short spending quality time. Days spent wanding the alpine were pretty great though.

Tertiary goal: bring home a sheep and/or caribou.
Zero success. :p:redface:
