Jaydog goes hunting - wild reindeer in Norway

Don't worry boys - he's home and just fine. I don't want to take liberties with his privacy, but I'll say that the radio silence is only because he has a lot (of positive things) on the go.

So I have been accused of being a 'hunting dicktease' and offer my apologies! I got home and things were crazy, or normal, I'm never sure the difference........

The hunt went amazingly well, considering I didn't see or shoot a reindeer but I have some great scenery photos to post. The concern over my life was appreciated and somewhat realistic- I did take an unplanned swim in a mountain lake in the middle of the night and the guy left solo in the boat had to relocate me from the headlamp I was wearing! We luckily made it back to the hunting cabin while I was still mobile but it wasn't fun or comfortable. FYI treading 4C water in Kennetreks isn't easy!

The upside was I managed to hook up with some other guys in southern Norway and participate in an old fashioned 'elg' (moose) hunt there! They have been doing the exact same hunt since the 50's, complete with a herd of beaters (women and children included) pushing the moose to hunters on post. I was a novelty in that group to say the least!
