So does anyone out there collect the Bren? How much is one worth now if you can find one?
I owned one a couple of years ago after wanting one since the mid-1980s. I think I paid $2500 or so for it and I must admit to being a little disappointed with it. The slide had a definite "plum" hue and the fitting was off--the frame rails had scuffed the slide on one side from cycling. Most seriously, though, was that I'd read that some Bren Tens had porous slides from bad casting and were prone to catastrophic failure so I eventually traded it to a dealer without shooting it. I will be first in line, though, if VLTOR ever get their version launched.

Was the gun heavy and clunky? How was the trigger? I heard the workmanship wasn't good. Did you get your $ back when you sold the gun?

No, the pistol felt wonderful in the hand, the SA trigger pull was light and crisp. and the sights were easy to pick up. It was all-steel so it was a bit heavy, but because it was based on the CZ75 it was very comfortable to hold. I was fairly pleased with my trade deal on it (lost a bit of course), and it sold quickly from the dealer so I'd say we were both happy with the deal. I will literally be the first in line in the country to get VLTOR's version if/when they release it.

Thanks Master G. Would love to feel one in my hands. I it's a historical and very collectable piece. Owning 2 is amazing. I would not shoot them either..ok maybe a couple of mags worth!
That is exactly the way I would describe it too. I never shot one, just handled it in the store, but I remember it fitting my hand perfectly. I think I need to go and buy a lottery ticket so I can bid on that Dualmaster

I recall seeing the Ten on Jeff Cooper's hip where he normally carried his 1911 during the 90s when he was promoting the gun

I handled one at a gun store in the US back in the mid 80's. Nice gun; based on the CZ, so it felt good in the hand.
If I recall correctly though, the magazines were harder to get then the guns were; a lot were actually sold without magazines by the dealers, with a promissory note to supply the mags when they arrived, but they never did due to problems with the manufacturer .
