there was some talk of "heirloom gun's" the other day and some fella in passing said Cabot guns.
id never heard of them before so i went and checked out their web page.

holy hell!

their OAK collection (One of A Kind guns) lists this.... The Damascus at $35,000
one of the things that jumped out at me about this gun was the grips, they are made from ancient tooth of the wooly mammoth!

or, if your wanting something a little bit more.... for $100,000 there is this offering;

i watched all their video's and crawled all over their web page.
looks like some truly amazing firearms!
im kinda considering one of their 'south paw' left handed 1911's for myself as something to save my extra money for (a mere $5,750)

if your bored go check them out.
Cabot Guns

Well, to each his own but I have to say I find the looks kind of tacky and garish. They might be wonderfully made but something like an $800 Rugar SR1911 is a better looking gun IMO

An acquaintance of mine made the grips for the second gun (scrimshawed with Obama and bush)

I wonder if the panels were intentionally put on the right shooter (Bush, Republican) and left (Obama, Democrat)? {political ideologically speaking, Republicans are conservatives "on the right", and Democrats are Liberal, or "on the left"}

It would appear that their target market would be those for whom STI 1911s aren't sufficiently ugly and have more money than sense.

no doubt deliberate

I like the way they build the gun being precise in terms of parts interchangeability and that GI Classic is awesome but the "Made in the USA" roll mark on the slide looks awkward. For that price, I'd rather get that Wilson CQB in the EE just posted today!
