Jewell trigger cleaning help

So far all i have found for instructions is to flush with lighter fluid each time you clean the barrel or get it dirty. I have the heavier trigger on a rem 700 with the bolt release and safety (hvr i think) so theres a bit of stuff going on outside the main trigger assembly. Should the side be removed for cleaning or try to flush fluid in from the bottom/top. Will the safety and bolt release stay in place if i remove the side?My trigger works great and im not planning on cleaning it unless i get it dirty or full of oil or something. Just wondering what i am up against. Thanks for any help.
 
Don't open it up. Just put the lighter fluid through the top while still attached to the action. Lots of small pieces and springs in them that can get lost.

Okay I get the joke now Dwayne......... Sooner have the blonde. Remember, are those 44's or 45's. Next to Midnight black hair, I will take an all NATURAL blonde.......
 
Thanks guys. The benchrest trigger without the safety looks a bit easier. After the screws are removed from the one i have there are clips that need to be removed that hold the pins securing the safety mechanism.
 
That is correct. Your I-phone is your best friend. Take some photos. There is even the instructions online for all the Jewell triggers with drawings. If you have a sense of adventure they are not difficult to work on. Just be careful and do not overtighten the screws as they are easy to strip.

I use Flitz or Peek and 1000 or 1500 grit wet Sandpaper on the sides of the plates and the levers. Shines them up with few strokes and makes a good trigger even better. Then a light coat of EEZOX then assemble.

They are very simple to work on. As you can see this one is showing some wear. I open them up do a little 1000 grit massaging and carry on.

*2 for flitz. It's amazing. Home hardware has it as well as snap-on can order it!

I should have taken pics of triggers I have done. When I am done the sides of the levers look like mirrors.... Not to say they are all perfect after re working. I have had one that the bearing surface of the sear is rough. No way to fix it other than replacing it. I can live with it as it is on my varmint rifle. If it were my competition rifles that would be another story.
 
Took my trigger apart and cleaned it all up last evening. Thanks for the help, i took lots of pictures as i was taking things off and put it back together with no issues.
