1:10 is plenty of twist even with 26" of barrel (for the 300SMK). You certainly don't need 1:9 with a 30" barrel (unless you have some really heavy custom bullets in mind).

We have lots of stocks that will fit that big action. I believe Dakota does make a difference between a Tactical action and a Sporting action. The Tact action needs to work in a dirtier situation. Give Richard a call at Dakota and ask him about us and stocks.

I have a Jewell trigger on my custom 7mm Rem mag. While they are a little pricy, IMO they are a great trigger.

If do not need safety you may look into Davies trigger. Very nice 2-stage, acctualy prefer it to Jewell.

Steve - they are used lots by the Palma guys. Austrailian mfg. FInd them on Musgraves, paramounts etc.....

I think this fella handles them.

http://www.triplej.com.au. 2 stage, can be adjusted as a single stage. Very good triggers for target work if you need a bit heavier pull then benchrest. Many of Palma shooters swears by them and I can see why. If anyone needs more info, let me know.
