Not worried about the value. I just had the rifle completely redone. The original had a jewelled bolt but the smith that refinished it wasn't interested in jewelling it.
Also, if I didn't do something just because I had to ask questions I wouldn't do much of anything.
Even though I'm a carpenter there's a lot of things I haven't done. I've never built a set of interior finished stairs. I ask a lot of questions and just finished these in my own home. I think they turned out rather well.
Also here's a pic of a portable hydraulic saw mill my uncle built from scratch as well as a small log loader for an ATV. He's one of the most talented guy's I know. He's a pretty good artist, sculpture, he can play almost any instrument very well by ear, machinist, carpenter, mechanic and amateur gunsmith. Between the two of us, well getter done!
I may not decide to do the job myself but I can guarantee you that if I do it will be done well.
