I was really surprised to see Jim Shockey dropped his Knight in favor of a T/C.
I think T/C is better product but find it funny that for years all you hear from him was how Knight was the absolute best then one show you see him holding a T/C:confused:
Anybody know why he dropped the Knight deal??

Cheers!!

My impression is that, at the high end of any gear-based, competitive sport, there is precious little difference in the quality of the different brands of equipment. This being the case, the high profile competitors use whatever gear that brings in the best sponsorship deal.

Old news, but this is from Shockeys web page

I KNOW I’M GOING TO BE ASKED A LOT COMING IN THIS NEW YEAR AS THE FACT THAT I’VE SWITCHED OVER TO THOMPSON CENTER BECOMES OBVIOUS TO ALL THE HUNTERS OUT THERE. FIRST OFF I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT IN MY POSITION I FEEL OBLIGATED ALWAYS TO TELL THE TRUTH AND IF I’M USING A FIREARM THAT I CONSIDER OR IN FACT ANY PRODUCT THAT I CONSIDER TO BE INFERIOR TO OTHER PRODUCTS ON THE MARKET I DON’T FEEL COMFORTABLE IN TRYING TO PASS OFF MY ENDORSEMENT ON THE INFERIOR PRODUCT WHEN I KNOW THAT IS WHAT IS ITS. SO THE SHORT ANSWER IS YES I HAVE SWITCHED OVER TO THOMPSON CENTER FIREARMS. TONY KNIGHT IS A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE AND ALWAYS WILL BE AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN, I SHOT HIS GUNS FOR ALMOST 15 YEARS AND FEEL THAT HE DESIGNED TWO OF THE GREATEST GUNS EVER DESIGNED, TWO GREAT MUZZLELOADERS THE MK85 AND THE D.I.S.C. RIFLE. HOWEVER, TONY DOES NOT OWN KNIGHT MUZZLE LOADING ANYMORE ITS OWNED BY A HUGE CORPORATION AND THE LATEST OFFERINGS FROM THAT CORPORATION UNDER THE NAME OF KNIGHT WERE NOT DESIGNED BY TONY KNIGHT HIMSELF AND I WON’T GO INTO DETAILS OF WHAT I THINK OF THOSE NEW GUNS BUT SUFFICE IT TO SAY I’VE TAKEN 13 SHOTS AT 13 DIFFERENT ANIMALS SINCE I’VE SWITCHED OVER TO THOMPSON CENTER AND I’VE MADE 13 ONE SHOT KILLS. I CONSIDER THE THOMPSON CENTER FIREARMS TO BE STATE OF THE ART IN OUR INDUSTRY AND I BELIEVE HONESTLY I WOULD BE REMISS IF I WAS TRYING TO PASS OFF A DIFFERENT FIREARM AS BEING THE BEST IN THE INDUSTRY WHEN IN FACT I WOULD BELIEVE THE OPPOSITE. YOU CAN READ INTO THAT ANSWER WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE JASON BUT I CAN TELL YOU UNEQUIVOCALLY THAT I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH MY THOMPSON CENTER FIREARMS. HUNTING IS MORE FUN FOR ME AGAIN NOW WHEN I KNOW THAT I CAN TAKE A SHOT WITH CONFIDENCE!

Hope that answers your questions.

Well said "Redd" ... as if Shockey isn't !!!

Writers & celebs shill whatever crap they're paid to, inferior or not !

Think Tiger Woods really likes Buicks all that much ???

I would praise Remington 710's and advocate head shots if you paid me enough money......
But I am just a gun whore anyway......

You're a day late and a dollar short Redd. Remington has already hired ME as their official CANADIAN SPOKESMAN. "Whats the point in owning a gun that lasts longer than Hunting season?"

Well boys....................as to the writing part. Let us not forget that magazines do not want to publish stuff that will cause the manufacturers to withdraw or refuse to advertise with them. Fact of life. Advertising is what pays for the magazine to exist. No ads, no mag. I have written for the odd one. My choice has been, if it works great send it in for print, if it doesn't they won't take what I have to say and use it....bad for business.

I was thinking about a website with reviews.....to the point, good or bad. Problem is, how do I make it pay.......no not just to exist, as it had better produce a bit of change for me or why bother. First, you have to obtain the product and then do the work-up......it all costs. Open to ideas.

Ah.............but does he? It is all smoke and mirrors on many of these outdoor shows. I have been guiding on more than a few and I can think of at least 4 in recent years that were a joke when they actually aired. Not even close to real life. Wounded caribou running everywhere but the one for the show died quickly as opposed to running across the tundra with several arrows and Dene chasing it.

But I am sure Jim's are way more to life than Craig's.

Give it up BC, you and Sasquatch sound like grade six scool girls in the last three threads I have read. What is your point, or do you have one?
