Full Job Description
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day in-house manufacturing (Sewing & Laser Cutting).
Please Note: This is a “Hands On” position and we are looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done! We are a fast growing company and need people who are willing to commit long term to benefit from long term rewards.
PRODUCTION SEWING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 3+ years proven work experience as a production, manufacturing, preferably in tactical gear or textile industries
Management Experience preferred
Knowledgeable of production/manufacturing processes, techniques, and sewing machinery.
Experience in single needle, and automated sewing
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage switching between multiple tasks
CPIC and references REQUIRED.
Tasks Summary:
Manage day to day production and production staff
Raw materials projections, liabilities, & product forecasting
Assist in product cost estimations including new product costing (time studies and bill of materials)
Order materials from suppliers and maintain inventory levels
Assist with hiring and training new staff
Ongoing quality control monitoring and process improvement
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and develop production schedules to provide the required level of finished goods for all projects and product lines
Work to ensure availability and in house stock levels of all materials and components necessary to produce finished products
Assist in the resolution of production, equipment, and systems problems, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
Train, supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in operating sewing and cutting machines to manufacture products according to set specifications including: standards of quality, cost, production, efficiency, and material waste control
Work with Management to develop and execute production operational strategies and vision
Monitor production processes, adjust schedules as needed, and ensure that products are produced in a timely and cost effective manner.
Initiate recommendations for new equipment and improvements.
Address unacceptable performance through development and maintain accountability systems with employees
Provide consistent hands-on support to the manufacturing team through mentorship, troubleshooting, development of process improvements.
Maintain a clean and well-organized work area
Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to improve and promote quality, performance, and continuous improvement in all area
Perform additional tasks or assignments requested by management
Preferred Skills (Not Required, however a big plus if you have these):
Management experience
Sewing medium to heavyweight fabric nylon products
Program and troubleshoot machines
Pattern making/Drafting on paper and/or CAD
Software: Microsoft Office and Google applications (Sheets, Docs, email).
