Joe Rogan - Newest hunter......

How can anyone possibly be against that? He was appreciative, respectful and articulate, and we need more celebs like him to counter the Paul McCartneys and Pamela Andersons of the world.
Right on Rogan, and welcome to your newest addiction!!

No doubt, he was more respectful and appreciative of his hunt then many posters here CGN. Some guys are complaining because he might bring new people into the sport...What the hell is that about??

Yup, I agree with both of you(elkmaster c n scott r)! Having a well spoken celeb speak about hunting and get involved with the sport is great. I face palm myself over half the nonsense I see on this site. That four minute video of JR he was nothing but eloquent and respectful. Bravo. : )

I have had the privilege to meet and speak with Joe in person and let me tell you he is a stand up guy ( no pun intended ). And I really see no problem that he could cause introducing any of his fans to the world of hunting or firearms. Honestly how is this a negative thing? Also typecasting UFC or MMA fans ( I am a avid fan I might add ) into one group of testosterone fuelled Neanderthals is completely ridiculous. It Kinda reminds me of the way the most of the world views us firearms enthusiasts. Are they right? Never judge a book buy its cover.

I have become a huge fan of The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. He gets some really cool people to interview. Like mentioned before it reminds me of some classic Art Bell stuff, especially his Graham Hancock interview.

I like what I have seen of Rogan and take the UFC/MMA stuff as it comes.
As far as his hunting video it sure is a breath of fresh air from having brainless celeb PETA bimbos tell us what to do or eat.

I've personally met the guy multiple times living in California doing jiu jitsu he is nothing but a positive man who is an extremely well rounded individual and a very compassionate man. It is a plus in every regards to bring such a respectful person into the sport. Anything this man practices he puts 110% in and helps others around him as I've seen in the martial arts world first hand and I have no doubt he will do the same for shooting.

I agree with a lot of people in this thread. The video was really well done good and it showed that Joe Rogan put serious though into his decision to take up hunting.

He was a professional UFC fighter for while.

He was an actor long before being on Fear Factor. Anyone remember the show "News Radio"?? Great show with a great cast.

I'm not a Joe Rogan fan at all, I simply don't care about him. But he was pretty funny on News Radio.

IMO, mainstream attention for hunting is a good thing.

I don't see UFC idiots getting into it. Most of them have already hung up their tapout shirts and gotten married with kids.

never fought in ufc or in any mma event..

He is one of the most open minded individuals you will ever meet and I did meet him a couple years back at a private Toronto comedy show. Even though he has a moderate to high level of fame and has amassed a small fortune threw his TV and UFC appearances, Podcast and stand up, he remains a genuine person. IMO this can only be a good thing for the sport. He's talked about his hunting experience many times on his podcast and though he leans left in most things just this one trip has altered his stance on guns and now has him leaning more pro than anti. It takes a big man to admit ignorance.

The original hunters. Ever tried to chase down a deer and poke it with a non throwable spear before smashing it in the head with a rock? Neanderthals were badass.

Just another pot head with a gun license in my opinion.

Funny how nobody asked...

In fairness to Joe Rogan... I had not watched the video when I posted... the video was excellent, as was Joe's demeanor... unlike many on this thread, I am a huge UFC fan... I love the sport of MMA and I know of Joe Rogan very well... I have heard Joe make some outlandish statements over the years (I can't say that I necessarily disagreed, but would not have said it out loud)... I really like what he said about hunting being the ethical thing to do as a "meat eater." If he continues to be as grounded and respectful as that, it will be a good thing for hunting in general.

I hope Joe Rogan gets into hunting in a big way. He is passionate, outspoken and eloquent. He could do a lot of good for the sport and I think we'd be lucky to have him.
