Sell to John Denner!! I think you'll find that he also only pays 50% of retail (or less) when buying guns. If your going to sell a gun or two and have time you are better off selling to a collector. This way you may get closer fair market value for your piece.

Hi everyone, GOOD NEWS!!!I have just spoke to Joe Jr Salter, and they are still willing to ship antique class guns to Canada !!
I have just bought a gun there, and they said as long we provide them the ANTIQUE STATUS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT LETTER from CFC /RCMP they will gladly ship the (ANTIQUE class Only) gun you want to Canada.
The problem was with Canadian Customs. But By providing the letter there shall be NO PROBLEMS !!!
I suggested that they put it in writing on their web site!!
Just wanted to spread the good news to those who might wanna know.

BUT Sell your gun here at CGN Of course so we can all have a crack at them + you will get a much Better price here as well.
I contacted Salter about a year ago about a specific rifle and they said they would not ship to Canada....PERIOD!!! Takes all he can get from here and transports them into the US and then won't sell a Canadian marked military rifle, which he purchased here, back into Canada. This is how our history is being wholesaled away. I agree with Junkman....sell to collectors here in Canada. I hope his market to buy here dries up.
I Suggested them to change it on their web site. By the way, they shipped my gun today !

I just sent him a email asking if i send a RCMP CFC Antique letter with payment will he ship to me in B.C
Im waiting to hear back.
If enough ask he will change the info at his web site on his shipping to Canada.

Sounds like playing God to me. He can get all of our Canadian bought firearms into the US with no difficulty!

To me it sound more like he prefer that we check with him first for the availability of the item prior to have the CFC writing a letter for a gun that as already been sold, reserved or promised to someone else. This would only avoid making CFC wasting their time doing a search on the gun, and writing a letter for absolutely nothing, not to mention your frustration of having waited for the letter for finally getting the answer :Sorry this item is sold! from them.
