John Hunt passes away

I just got news that John Hunt from Hunt TV passed away today. I spent quite a bit of time talking with John a few weeks ago at Huntfest in Orangeville about his past adventures and some great hunts he had coming up this fall, including a couple here in Alberta. He definitely lived for the hunt....there is a lesson in there somewhere for all of us. RIP John.

he was a great guy and will be sorely missed by all his friends

I did like his sense of humor. Any cause of death he seems too young and vibrant to be gone so early? RIP John

I hope Im thinking of the right guy but I just saw him at Bass Pro on Saturday, I was in the next line, i said hi he said hi back, looked fine

I am very sad to hear this about John, I liked him very much. I always told guys I like his show because he showed it all, if he missed a shot or done something a bit dumb like we all do from time time, he left it in the show which actually made it better. Like the time he was dall sheep hunting he said he didn't do anything to get in shape for the hunt and in fact just had just got out of the hospital. He said it the way it was.

I sent him an e-mail once on the episode when he was hunting wolves. Teasing him that he had to use a Sako once instead of the Weatherby being that he had problems and couldn’t hit the wolves he was shooting at. Never did reply...

I sent him an email once too, about the episode where he was bear hunting and showing himself breaking several Ontario laws. He didn't answer that one either

I won't get into details here, but basically it was the results of a genetic brain disorder-a type of aneurysm
