John Wayne 1-handed lever operation.

Ow, it kind of hurts.

Helmet, his real name was Miriam and he was more of a house-coat and pipe-smoking guy, but yea he brought his own revolvers for the movies he was in. I heard.
Marion Morison I believe. Eastwood also brought his personal guns to the set. That big automag that he had in Dirty Harry was his own. He had two of them. Serial #'s 1 and 2 ,so I heard.

In spite of the speculation of the safety nazis, the above is Perfectly safe as the round is not chambered with the action closed when in a position to harm ones self.

It might not be pratitcal but it sure looks cool

It's practical if you have only one free hand.

Well, we have the bolt guys on this one, aint no way to do that with a bolt gun. :)

It would be fun to watch Super try to one hand a pump gun though :D

As to it being safe, I think you are fine right up until you drop the gun, and that's real easy to do if you are trying to do the full circle flip. The firearm will land, loaded and cocked, on it's sights :( butt away from you barrel pointed at your feet.
A lesson I learned with an empty rifle thankfully.

i can't do it with the savage, balance is off and the lockup is different- moreoever, it isn't short enough

Actually, John Wayne did this in his movies as far back as Stagecoach, which was filmed in the 30s, if memory serves, and I vaguely recall reading an article where he stated that he "borrowed" the move from Harry Carry Senior (stuntman extraordinaire/actor) in the 20s. The most famous scene was, I agree, from the True Grit shootout scene between him and the Lucky Ned Pepper (Robert Duvall) gang. One of the best cinematic showdowns ever filmed. - dan

Correct me If I am wrong but wasn't that piece of crap Connors used rigged to fire when you closed the lever as he fired them all from the hip.Almost a big a waste of a 92 as the cut down on "wanted dead or alive" .In the big scene in "True Grit" didn't He take the reins in his teeth and work a gun in each hand.

Well, I was under the impression that the shotgun used by Arnold was a "copy" made by Tristan, which was much modified so he can do that easy.
The "Tristar" Aussie made 87 clones were not available (not made) at the time of T3........it had to be an original 87 or 1903 Winchester chopped off.

Eitherway it was Cool

doing a john wayne hurts but the Arnold thing actually works as long as your fingers don't get caught in the lever
