Being a huge John Wick fan, what better way to celebrate my 50[SUP]th[/SUP] birthday than with this incredible TTI John Wick 2 cake! This is one of the coolest things I have gotten in a while and I must say Velvet Lane Cakes did an amazing job and were great to work with (more on this later).

The level of realism and detail is astonishing…it looks just like the real thing!

Once again,, amazing job by Velvet Lane! I was worried that they would not want to do a “gun themed” cake or have a birthday message that, ahem, follows the movie quote but they were totally cool with everything. Very responsive and great attitude! I think I might commission a John Wick 3 cake for Christmas!

Thanks! ...yes it cost more than that Ace of Spades Champagne lol....probably still a better gun than a Hi-Point lol

thanks all for the birthday wishes....here is a little recap of my day

First a haircut and beard trim from Brian “Prime Time” at The Fitting Room

then i had a table booked at Dreyfus, the #15 resto in Canada but they called a few hours before and cancelled as a staffer got Covid (or was exposed to it) and they had to shut down...this was quite disappointing as the owners are formerly of Joe Beef in Montreal (one time the top in Canada..now #4 i think) and i planned this months ago. So i ended up back at Barberian's steakhouse where i have been going for my birthday the past 15 or so years. Sadly, they got a new chef and changed their peppercorn sauce which was the best part

escargot

filet mignon (they took the 12 oz. off the menu but i had them cut me a 12 oz. anyway)

next stop, CC Lounge whiskey bar...we literally had the place to ourselves!!! This place is known for their "whiskey tunnel" which is supposed to remind you of prohibition days when people would smuggle through tunnels..it is lined with all kinds of whiskeys...i didnt know there is normally a $25 charge to see the tunnel but they let us in

in fact they were super nice and gave me several complimentary birthday shots lol...i tried Rittenhouse (to honour the not guilty verdict)..it was quite strong!

next i hosted a private comedy show! One of my friends is a professional comedian and he brought a couple of his crew for a private show

finally we cut the cake and had some champagne.

all in all a pretty good day.
