Went through the search function a few times and nothing at all about these. Found a few points on google, but nothing other than A1 shape $5k-8k. Anybody buy/sell one one of these in the last couple of years.
Thanks
Clint
Hi. Supply and demand. Not many M1941 Johnsons were made(roughly 30,000) and those that are still around, in decent condition, do demand those kind of prices.
There's one on icollector.com, currently sitting at $1250US, but it won't stay anywhere near that. Be 5 grand US, at least.
Thanks for the help.
The one here went for $1750 to an out of town bid. If he'd looked at it, he may have not gone that high. To say it needed a cleaning was an understatement.
Thanks
Clint
"...Surprising that nobody is making repros..." Be far too expensive to tool up for. The only reason there are as many as there are is because of the Dutch contract.
"...one here went for $1750..." What condition? Never seen one in decent condition myself.
I picked up my johnson 1941 back in the early 90's . I didnt know what it was when i bought it, i just knew it was special. I have a video of it and another johnson being fired at the same time.
I know I'm going to sound like an old fart but when I was a kid in the 50's I clearly remember seeing Johnson rifles in army surplus stores in Niagara Falls, NY selling in the $20 range. I remember them well because the big pot belly mags were so distinctive. Wish I'd bought a hundred of them. I could have retired a lot earlier.
If you ever come into a small fortune these are the guys to buy one from: http://ww w.miltecharms.com/rifles.htm#M1941
