Johnson rifles PROHIBITED?!!?

The mag had to be limited, but the standard rifle should be non-restricted. The LMG fed from box mags, so it can't be the one in the description.

Read the whole ad. Buddy is spelling challenged, so who knows what ELSE is wrong with the post???

Last I checked, the Johnston was an M1941, not a "1927". ;)

Piiics!!!

Like some say: "This ad is worthless without pics!"
A Johnson is some rare piece indeed and I would like to see one in my hands before I croak... well, that still gives me time to save money!:p
PP.:)

If it's a converted auto 12.3, it is a Johnson LMG, and it would be a prohib.

A Johnson rifle on the other hand is non-restricted.

There is no restricted M1941 Johnson unless the barrel length was shortened and/or the stock chopped off.

Both the Johnson LMG and the Johnson rifle had the 10 round rotary mag. The LMG also adapted the 20 round box mag to the left hand side like an FG42.

So what is it?
A Johnson 1941 semi-auto rifle?
A Johnson Light-machinegun?
Or a Thompson Sub-machinegun?
The post says 30-06, so that kinda narrows it down.
My money is on the LMG

"...10 round rotary mag..." This makes it evil. There's no exemption for the Johnson rifle. In all likelihood, the twits who wrote C-68 had never heard of a Johnson rifle.
"...says its a converted auto..." He's confused or he just doesn't know what it is. Considering that there were only about 30,000 ever made, hence there aren't many in Canada, it's not surprising. I've never seen one in decent shape.

Thats a negative on the Johnson M1941 LMG...
Removable 20 round box mags, loading from the left side....also known as the Johnny gun. The M41 rifle on the other hand uses a 10 round rotary mag thats not typically removed.

DaveGP,

The Johnson LMG has a 10 round rotary mag as well as the 20 round box mag which is removeable. Take a look at Canfields book - Johnson Rifles and Machine Guns.

The Capacity of the Johnson LMG was 25 rounds. (p 172)

Surprise, Surprise! :D

If it has a pistol grip similar to a Bren, it's the LMG.

If it doesn't, it's the M1941 Johnson Rifle.

It's just that easy!

Soooold!!!

All right you guys! I wrote the guy and he said I was right: it wasn't prohibited. It is a Johnson, after all.
Now,WHO bought it without telling me? I hope you don't try to chop it for a one-of-a-kind Tactical Home Defense gun!!!
PP.:D
