joined the 338 Lapua club

Hey I'm just west of ya in Rocky, builing a 338 Edge right now, but I have a few places in the mountains you could stretch her out past 1300! I have a Sendaro 7mm Mag and Savage 223 I've had out to 1000.
By any chance did you get the Sako at UFA in Red Deer? I saw one there a few weeks ago.
 
I would be interested in getting together with some Red Deer folks for some long range fun. I am about .5hr east. I shoot 338edge and 6br 45-70 and some stuff in between.

No i got it out @ bashaw sports. just need brass, bullets, dies and a scope base. should be going by the end of the month no rush i guess so busy with work and bit cold to work up a load.
 
Very nice rifle, I have the same one. I really like my TRG Lapua, and I recommend that you learn to shoot it with the muzzle brake removed. It has an extremely loud bark with the brake on, especially for your spotter. Recoil is stiff, but no worse than a powerful, light hunting rifle. I installed an aftermarket recoil pad on mine which I had to custom fit, but made a great difference in shooting comfort. Have fun!

Tell your spotter to go behind you.
 
Congrats. Me retired from that club. Good club.

No need for spotter. Concentrate on seeing where bullet hits through your scope. Make you better shot. Shoot at objects against steep bank if you can. Look for puff of dust.
