I am already committed to the 6BR since I have another rifle (though with a completely different purpose) in that calibre, and have all the reloading stuff for it.
 
What do you guys think? I'm not looking to win nationals, just having some fun with it in some casual F-Class competitions.

Given your stated experience in BR rimfire, and the cash you will be dropping for a new rig, this statement is not entirely true. FWIW, get one of Gord's rifles, and a really good scope.
 
Brian, I know you were looking at RC stocks and they are top notch, but consider a Remington 700 VLS Thumbhole. It uses essentially the same stock as the XR100 (a FABULOUS F-Class platform) and all you would need to do to make a quantum leap towards true precision is put on a 6mm barrel and bed the action. Trigger tweaking, action accurizing and some good glass and you would have a gun as good as any F-Class rifle out there.

Richard and I have a few XR100's between us in 6BR and they are incredible.
 
Update:

Well, since my friend is selling M700 in 308 with a whole bunch of goodies, I've decided to take that gun off his hands. It's already trued and wears a TPS 20 MOA rail so I just have to sell the barrel, stock, trigger and I'll have my action ready.
 
The project is moving faster than I expected (not necessarily a bad thing! ;)).

Already in hand:

M700 action, trued
TPS 20 MOA base

On the way:

30" 1-8" twist Krieger in 6mm
Sightron III 8-32x

Yet to order:

Robertson stock (still figuring out which one to get...?)
Jewell trigger (go big or go home :D)
A pair of 30mm rings (suggestions?)

Today's been a good and productive day. Shooting a few ducks didn't hurt either :D

Got a pair of Leupold PRWs off the EE for a fair price, so I'll use those for now. :)

All I have to do is order the stock from Ian Robertson and I'm good to go!

Just in time for the spring season to get my butt kicked :D
