Well I was originally thinking of picking up a 10/22 to start and then an M14 afterwards, but after much thought and question asking to a certain member here I decided to go this route instead.
So I picked up an unfired (but cleaned) Norinco M14S with a USGI synthetic stock already installed.
I've never been ashamed of being an airsoft player and although I might be made fun of this... here is an airsoft gun that I "fielded":
It had the same weight as a real M14. I don't know if this had any hand on why I wanted to buy that M14S but maybe....
