Hey all..

I'm really enjoying skeet, and would like to start scoring at registered events.
Can somebody point me in the direction of how things work?

Do I have to join both US and CAN associations?
What qualifies as a registered event?

Thanks...

You join the NSSA which is the governing body for registered skeet. Your membership is good at any club around the world holding sanctioned NSSA registered skeet shoots. I haven't renewed my membership in a few years but I think last time it was around $20 - $25 per year?
I see you are in Hamilton. Make a trip out to the Hamilton Gun Club and I am sure they can help you with everything and bring you up to speed on current membership rates, shoot dates etc.

ISP issues last evening. The website is back up.

The OSSA will give you a complimentary membership your first year (as will the NSSA, but you seem to have jumped the gun on that).

At your first registered event simply mention that you are shooting registered targets for the first time and would like to take advantage of the complimentary membership. After the first year membership runs $15/year. NSSA membership runs $40USD/year.

Brad.

Alrighty...Just joined..
I'll check the Ontario skeet sight, and see what's required.
Thanks.

Update:
Seem that the website's down..

Just shot my first registered shoot today..
Keith Hutcheson helped a few of us join, and was wonderful to talk to..
Thanks to his help, I was able to register. Quick, easy, and he answered any questions..

With days like today, I'm looking forward to shooting more events..

Keith is a top notch guy! Very enthusiastic about skeet and very keen on helping out people new to the sport.

I've known him since being junior shooter and now rather frighteningly that is more than a few years ago.
