Hi
I have a johnathan browning mountain rifle as well.Found mine ne in the box last year.Mine is in 50 cal with brass trim. They were available in three cals 45.,50., and 54 in brass or iron trim. They have very deep rifling and are intended for round ball shooting.Produced in the early eighties they weren t a big seller as they were more expensive than the current crop of TC hawkens. They are an extremely solid and rugged rifle and are much coveted by BP shooters. There is actually a revival in interest in them in the States as people are rediscovering them as excellent shooters.Collectors value mainly as a shooter.I also have the original instruction manual with mine.

Hopes this helps

I bought one from a guy from out west that retired here in my village. Its a 54 cal., shoots round balls, has a single set trigger and has a browned finish. Mine is trimmed in iron. Shoots great and is built like a rock!

Browning Black Powder

I also have one, brought it back Europe in 77, bought at an American Rod and Gun Club. Its the Centenial Model,# 913 out of 1000 and has a bust medalion in the butt of Johnathen Browning. Its a .50, steel trim and the most beautiful figured stock. They really did a fine job. I kept it un-fired for years...but then broke down, and even for a beginer..it shot great. No regrets.
