Just bought one this morning, have only seen a small picture of it. Supposed to be 95% according to the Gundealer, whom ive never had a reason to not trust. 26" barrels, IC/SK chokes, sounds like a good early season grouse gun to me. From what I can find out, decent quality,at least better than a Turkish gun that would have cost nearly as much.
anyone have one?

All of my dealings with them have been good so I'm betting you'll be happy.

Me too,and I bought a bunch of guns from them. another good thing is buddy weighed it while I was on the phone,6.35 pounds. I was asking in general, are the Royal's a pretty good gun? I know Sauer made some pretty high end shotguns

Its no british best but if as described it will be a great hunting gun. They were well built. Not overly fancy or ornate but quality materials and workmanship. You shouldnt be dissappointed

While I've never handled a 20 GA Royale, all of the JP Sauer shotguns that I've seen have appeared to be of decent quality. Fit and finish were good and I would rather have one of those over any of the current crop of SxS's out of Turkey.

Thanks guys! This should go in one of those "best SxS for 1500 dollars" threads maybe. I was looking for maybe an SKB or Turkish gun as this wont be used for high volume shooting. However I had a CZ Bobwhite in 20ga and it need repairs so I wasn't really wanting to try another Turkish gun.

Thanks guys! She may come up on the EE at some point because the stock is to short,Im going to try it at the club soon, but Im not going to alter it. LOP is about an inch to short for me.

Have you thought about a slip on pad, no alteration necessary?

yes,i may try that. ill see if I can shoot it the way it is first, those things are butt ugly, and sometimes damage the finish on the stock. its primarly a hunting gun,so if it ever cools off, will be wearing a jacket that will help somewhat too.

Were those chokes factory or reamed by the previous owner? Seems very open for a typical Euro gun.

Very nice by the way...I will be interested to see if you put it on the EE....

I don't know if the barrels were ever opened up or not,no history on the gun as purchased from the Gundealer.

I haven't actually measured the LOP yet,but its at least an inch to short, and a 14.5" usually fits me OK.
