love my JR Carbine, but always hated the little pencil barrel look.

Before (first gun on bottom)

After much digging, googling, etc, I found a company that would custom make one to my specifications.

out came the calipers and ruler, in went the order and this little beauty came today.

After

In my opinion it looks way better now.

That looks awesome.

What would be even more awesome is if you would post a copy of your blueprint so others can copy it.

Seriously, that looks so much better than before.

You can link to whatever you like.

Just break the link somewhere so that it doesn't function as a "hot-link" and everyone will have to copy and paste the address manually. That is totally allowed on the forum.

Do the JR carbines have a standard AR barrel nut setup?

If so, a rifle length FF fore-end would go a long way to improving the visual "balance".

Okay.

Barrel diameter is .750 +\- a thou. Call it .750 and you are good.

One thing. Mine is the new round barrel. First Gen JR's came with a pyramid barrel I believe. No idea if these would work for those style barrels. That's maybe a question for Val.

Length to clear factory hand rail and still get to rear set screw is exactly 11.5 inches.

Outside shroud diameter is inch and a quarter. The largest they do.

The mechanism to hold it on is pretty trick too. I have a shroud for my M&P 22 and it uses simple set screws that thread in and indent into the barrel. This one uses a metal ring assembly that constricts around barrel as you tighten it. Really an ingenious set up.

Top quality, great communication and they will make anything you want, if they don't already have it.
