JR Carbine barrel shroud....finally

Does the underside of that NC Handguard have a picatinny rail on it? I'm trying to figure out how I can get more rail onto the rifle.

I am going to order a barrel shroud as well. I hope they still make them.

There are other forends that fit the JR with plently of space.

That looks great! Where did you get that one from? I'm new to AR platforms, so I'm just learning at the moment. I don't really like the original fore end since my hands aren't that big. I really want to build up my JRC as a pdw and my main plinker. Feeding my XCR is pretty expensive :(

This one is a Yankee Hill Machine. Ebay usually has a few. They go all the way to 12-13 inches if you want that long.
Much thinner than the OEM forend.
They mount without any mods!
 
Wow. I looked at the Yankee Hill stuff and it looks great. I'm interested in the light weight ones, but I'm confused. I was looking at the Picatinny rail specification, and the slots on the light weight fore ends look way too thin?

Yes, you can mount full length Nordic Components bottom rail. I'm using Magpul rails on the bottom though. It works.

Done! Barrel shroud ordered, I hope mine gets here within a week too :) Now to shop for a nice fore end. Too bad Yankee Hill is all out of the light weight rifle length ones though :(

Edit: Ok ebay.ca sucks. I tried looking up the Yankke Hill forearm, but all I get is superhero stuff. ebay.com seems to have no trouble though.

YHM's diamond model is nice as well. Make sure your locktite that shroud before you start shooting.
 
Hey all, I didn't get the a new quad rail, but I'm waiting on a Yankee Hill Machine. They were out of stock on the length/type I want :( Anyways, here's mine, let me know what y'all think. :)

I see they also have ventilated barrel shrouds. Has anyone inquired as to whether they would make a ventilated version for the JRC? I think it might be a little better for reduced weight and better barrel cooling (although for a 9mm that's not a big issue).
