I've read many posts about the JR carbine and the most prominent complaint seems to be takedown for cleaning.

I'm curious, would it be possible to convert to a captured takedown pin instead of screws?

Interested to see what you guys think.

In theory you could drill out the threaded holes and run some pin system thru them. The posts that the screws thread into arnt very big and are monolithic with the guns reciever so ud only have the one shot to get it right. After that youd still need to unthread the charging handle bolt and buffer tube castle nut to dissemble the gun.

I'm not fond of the little screw in bolt knob. There's a tiny little washer that has to go on before screwing the bolt back in and if you accidentally lose it and screw the bolt knob in anyway it will snug up right into the bolt carrier and jam the bolt so it can't cycle. That's the worst design flaw of the rifle IMO. I found out the hard way after stripping the whole receiver to clean and lube and driving 4.5 hours to my shooting spot and it wouldn't cycle because the washer had gone missing on disassembly. To add insult to injury I brought the wrong hex wrench for the bolt knob!!
