JR Carbine hand guard options

If your on a budget, you could try airsoft AR15 forends from various Canadian stores. My JRC has been sporting a 80 cad Chinese knock off of a ALG Defense forend for almost a decade without issue.

I purchased the TNA handguard for mine. I did some research and found the shim/washer at the Volkswagen dealership parts dept. Do some searching, shouldnt be too hard to find the part number.

Interesting, I should laser cut some and start selling them lol thats all the TNA ones were if i recall correctly.

Shim or just shorten the handguard to clear the receiver, and then any standard AR handguard will fit. I can't stand quad rails, so I replaced mine a while ago. Can be done a pile of different ways, depending on what you have available to you. I used a milling machine, but you could also get by with a belt sander, angle grinder, or just a piece of friggin sandpaper on a flat surface if you had enough time and patience. It'll look funny if you put in on a standard dimension AR, but these things are pretty cheap from the usual chinesium dealers (Wish, Ali Express, etc), so you're not out much if you go that route.

but you could also get by with ... a piece of friggin sandpaper on a flat surface if you had enough time and patience.

I shaved down a regular AR barrel nut this way with varying grit sandpaper. It didn't actually take all that long - 15-20min. and some screwing around to see if I had taken enough off each time - probably 30min. of puttering...

It's wearing an A2 removable carry handle and full length AR handguards with the FSB installed with rockset and set screws dimpled into the barrel.

@ the 10:22 mark this is the issue youll likely have to overcome. The JRC needs a crap load of shims to take up barrel slop rather then just for indexing the forend.

Buy the take down forearm,/ tube...works great..I've had one on my JR for along time...easy take down..and if you wanted m-locks..you could always have a machinist cut the slots..
Cheers
