JR Carbine issue

Does epps handle the warranty service in Canada? I am not sure how all of this works. My past purchases have all gone smooth.

Epps is the only warranty dealer for JR in Canada that I am aware of. The mag alone is not your problem.

Check that your shock buffer is steel not stainless. The steel ones are bright and shiny- stainless are flat grey. Also, you will have to shorten the rubber stopper in the shock buffer tube to 11/16ths of an inch. The bolt is working too fast which is why your rounds are going vertical along with the mag issues. This will slow it down. I have done those fixes- which were given to me over the phone by the inventor, Tom Fargnoli, in New York and my .45 is working great. No stoppages, no ftf. Very accurate carbine.

You are my hero, I checked and it is indeed steel.I will shorten that rubber stopper and hope for the best! That sounds very promising though.

Thanks so much

if this thing is still under warranty, you sure you want to do that? would assume any such changes on your part would void the warranty.... and what if it DOESN'T fix it?

it shouldn't be up to you to fix someone's errors, at least not while the firearm is brand new.

of course, my advice is worth exactly what you paid for it...

The part being modified is simply a piece of rubber, a spare can be picked up easily if it fails to work.If it was anything more then that, trust me I would not even consider this.

Well, thanks to rugerman, my .45 runs flawless.Took his advice last night and gave er a go today without any issue.

Thanks again man!

Wish I could say the same about my 40 . I shortened my buffer rubber polished the feed ramp & chamber edges as per Tom @ JR . Just got back from the range & it's still a jam-O-matic . Usually will not chamber the next rnd . bolt stops about 1/2 " before closed . Sometimes if you just give it a bump it will close other times the round is jammed on an angle & you have to forcibly hit the bolt open , The round stays were it is & you need to pry it straight & it will then fall out . Also when cycling the action by hand it will stick in the rear position . I can see this happens when it clears the hammer & the hammer comes UP to its locked back position . Used 3 different mags .
Dose anyone have a 40 that works like it should ? If so can you take a close up picture of your bolt face . Tom @ JR advised me to use a dremal & remove part of my bolt face but only sent me a drawing . would be nice to have a clear picture of what the current so called working one looks like. Sure wish this company had done their own R&D instead of relying on their customers to do it for them.

Did you reverse the Glock mag springs (front to back)? Also, there are instructions on his website about checking that you have the mag springs "set" properly. Some of them you have to bend until they lay flat on a flat surface. It is on his website. Overall, I agree, they should have made sure they worked a lot better than many of them do out of the box. There are a lot of good things to say about these carbines- once you get them feeding properly!!

Ya I saw that about the mag springs . But it says its a problem with the Glock 45 ACP mags and would effect the last 2 or 3 rnds in the mag
Mine is 40 S&W and the problem can happen on your first shot . I really need a close up picture of a latest generation 40 cal bolt face as I think this is where my problem lies .
Can't wait for the caliber conversion kits to arive , I'll be getting a 9mm conversion so I can use this thing if I can't get the 40 sorted out . Definitely staying away from the 45

I have read about others having mag issues with the 40 and 45 so I would give it a try.I should add mine got screwy with all shots not only the last couple every time.

after 4 months, talking to jr in the states, and 2 other company's this is the deal. 40's and 45's are having problems. lots of problems. i took store credit. bought some other items,
