I have been using the Chiappa M1-9 for a while and like it. There are some feeding issues with a full 10 round mag which are decreasing each time I take it out--it appears to be a "break-in" type of problem that looks like it will work out of. With only 5 or 6 rounds in the mags there are no feeding issues at all which is why I think it is a break-in matter. At this point the rifle has only seen a hundred rounds. I didn't care for the plastic parts or the sights so have replaced those with regular GI parts including a walnut stock. For a plinking gun the 9mm is much more practical than the 30 carbine round and this rifle feels good in the hand.

I did a review of the Chiappa that was purchased for under $400
For the price and the amount of use it gets it is a fun little plinker.
I would never use it in a timed competition or an instance where reliability was of top concern.
If you need it for 3-gun or similar or just have the extra cash and expect more from a pistol caliber carbine I'd look at a Theoron or something of similar quality.

generation 2 sub2000 rifles are coming out soon and have an improved appearance. I've heard of many complaints about the Chiappa ...... The sub2000 guns I've seen are reliable, but have terrible sights (new AR style sights are on the gen 2 version). I know, I know ..... These threads start off with two choices and people tell you to get a third or fourth choice lol. I'd wait for a gen 2 sub2k based on reliability and improved appearance. I want to like the Chiappa, but I have heard too many complaints about it.
I never seen the mod with collapsible stock before, I'll have to look into that for mine.

I loved my JR in 9mm ran like a freakin top didn't matter what ammo. Now I do personally love the look of the M1 if they made a gen 2 or gen 3 (I don't know how long it's been in production) and fixed the known issues I would buy one in a heart beat.
For me, the JR hits a sweet spot. It's pricing is not "Beretta high", or "Keltec Low"...midstream all the way. It's a VERY well made rifle and will shoot and shoot and shoot, as long as you do your part and occasionally clean the crud out of the action. In 18,000 rds I've had virtually no problems and the one I did have (wore out the firing pin) they replaced immediately.
I've shot the Chiappa; overpriced for what you get...it's junk. The Beretta is also overpriced because it's barretta it's a good enough rifle, but the trigger is awful and the egos didn't work for me. I have a Keltec, and it's a surprisingly good shooting, and tough little gun. Have you looked at the Gen II version? it's not as ugly, although the pitiful little mutt grows on you.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you remove the barrel of a semi.-auto. centre-fire rifle like the TNW Aero (or any firearm for that matter) and it's overall length becomes less then 26" while still be capable of firing a projectile you then have a restricted firearm in your possession w/o correct registration.
To the OP, I ran a JR Carbine pretty hard (many, many multiple 10Rd. mag dumps) for a couple thousand rounds running Selliers & Bellot 115Gr. 9mm ammo. w/o a hitch (like not one FTF/FTE...).
It proved to be a great lightweight plinker and was actually fairly decent accuracy wise out to 100Yds. for only running 9mm ammo.

I recently did a review of my new TNW ASR, I am extremely pleased with the accuracy and build quality. The looks I find are all just preference, I personally love the look of the TNW ASR and it takes glock mags. The removable barrel is a very added benefit as it makes cleaning a breeze and transportation easy as well. I have shot about 100 rounds through it (got it last week) and the first 40 rounds i experienced a few ejection errors about (3-4) but after that it ran flawlessly (i used 2 different mags).

I gave up on pistol calibre carbines, they are all facking plastic junk jammomatics except if youre willing to spend 5000$ for an HK.

Is that the StormTrooper edition, which is to say is does look cool, but the optic placement doesn't look right to me (although I do understand that's where it needs to be).
