Hi
Both 9mm blowback, both non restricted. Both pistol caliber 10 round mags.
Which is the better long term ourchase?is the newer Jr easier to take down for cleaning or is it still a royal pain?

I have both. If i were to choose 1, it would nondoubt be the cx4 - it is a level above in every catagory. The JR is awesome because of the new take-down models, but the no bolt hold open and having to remove stock to clean bolt are still annoying.

Cx4 no question. Ive shot a couple JRs and they dont even come close to the way the CX4 handles and feels. Nothing but quality.
Only thing you dont get with the CX4 that the Jr has is the AR look but that was not an issue for me. I ended up with a 9mm CX4 and the smile on my face wont go away. Crazy accurate and hella fun to shoot. It is also super easy to take apart and even after a 500rd session there is honestly not much to clean. Love it
Here is mine

Its not great but to be honest i dont even care. Its better than my old Kriss vectot i used to own and honestly it seems to have smoothed out a bit after 800rds or so. I own a SIG P226 sse and 227r with srt kits and those have sweet triggers, im just saying that i know what a sweet trigger feels like so i can compare.
However there is a trigger upgrade kit available !

Without stirring up a #### storm this is something that I always wondered about the JR.

They used to be shipped with a Glock magazine which, because it said Glock on it, was perfect for using in the JR as the magazine was not designed for the JR and therefore could hold ten rounds.

Some rifles were shipped with a JR Carbine magazine that was designed/labeled to be used in that semi automatic rifle and they weren't pinned to five rounds.

Just something to be aware of and to double check if you go the JR route.

own a jr, really enjoy shooting it, accuracy is fantastic. it is a bit of a pain to clean. I don't have any other semi autos though other than an sks, so nothing to compare to.
