The handguards aren't from E&L some of them are YHM and various other manufacturers. The barrel shrouds are from E&L if thats what you meant.

I can't see many people would be worried about bench shooting or prone position with a non-res pistol calibre carbine.

Yeah I here you, but it just seems that a 30+rd mag, that has to be pinned to 10rd's would be unnecessarily awkward,
"especially when hunting bear and moose"

Has anyone had success installing free floated railed forends from other manufacturers (Troy, DD, Samson), or is Yankee Hill Machine pretty well the only way to go? Wondering as well if the shroud from E&L only fits under the YHM rails and not from other makers?

The UTG fore end on mine went on perfectly. Barrel nut snugged in no problem and the top rail lined up perfectly. The fore end slides over the barrel shroud so should I need to remove the fore end I don't have to unscrew the shroud.

The Yankee Hill Machine forends are a direct bolt on replacement with no mods needed.

Got my magpul goodies from the EE.

Now I need a decent red dot and/or flip up irons.
