JR Carbine

love my 45 jr carbine. after getting in contact with jr carbines they sent me the proper repair parts to make mine function properly. now it works perfect all the time.

I have a .45 jr and get ftf jams at the end of almost every mag, I've done the magazine checks but no change. What parts will jr send me if I call? I have only shot the norc surplus, runs no problem in everything else I have :(

The issues I am having with my .45 JR sound very familiar to the issues you are having. I only use Norinco ammo. If you figure out a solution, please let me know. :)

Contact them and say you have a 45 version and you need the repair kit for feeding issues. If you go on their site they have a youtube video that shows how to install the repair kit.

I have wanted one in 45acp 1911 mag configuration for several years but I still read alot of problems and refuse to spend a grand on a gun that might or might not work...

New buffer ..comes with small stock extension ..

I was having some problems with federal and norinco , but wolf reloads shot like a dream ..

Now all go down the line with out any problems ... Give them a call ask for a tech .. He will release the buffer to you .. They will mail it that day .. See the PDF on their site ..download section ..

Edit: I bought replacement mag springs from them a year ago when I purchased the unit for my dedicated mags ..... I have an unmodified glock mag .. That can be a problem if it gets in the mix .. So bend those springs ..

I talked to the JR guy a month ago, they said they have a new bolt for the 45acp as well not that works better with 45ammo as well as the buffer kit. But they still don't have enough made to send them out, even as of today. This if for both buffer kit and new bolt

Did you guys even read the whole thread, only 3 pages, your answers lie there :bangHead: :onCrack:

Have 9mm post Dec 2012 version. Only failure has been 1 stovepipe in about 1000 rds which I contribute to the following issue. Like a previous poster said, once hot the bolt becomes difficult to pull back. Problem has always been solved by letting it cool down for a few minutes.

Great accuracy, highly recommend this gun.

my buddy has one which i take out all the time. 9mm. had only one or two failure to ejects since having it. put close to 400 rounds through it, otherwise smooth as butter, accurate to 100 yards, great shooting gun. it will be my close range bobcat lynx coyote gun this winter, nothin past 50 or so yards in the deep woods, better range than a 12 gauge and its just fun.

I feel the same way. I'd love one that takes 1911 mags but just can't bring myself to risk the money on a gun that may be less than reliable.

I shoot reloads out of mine exclusively. Once I duplicated the velocities that the 45ACP pistols normally get, the JR functioned wayyy better!
I think in the long run, they needed to do more R&D before releasing the product (45ACP version). For factory ammo, A stronger spring, or heavier bolt/recoil wieght, longer stock tube(already mentioned) would fix the majority of problems.

Still like the platform though!
