JR Carbine

Ok, final update on my JR. I talked to Tom at JR. He has been great to deal with. He told me to try grinding 20 thousandths off the tip of the extractor to solve the issue of the last casing getting jammed during ejection. He said if that does't work call him back. I don't have calipers but I ground off the very front tip about 1/4 of a millimeter. I fired 80 rounds through it with both magazines at various magazine fill levels. Not a single fail to feed or fail to eject. I used factory reloads as well as UMC rounds and all worked.

I will say I am a little disappointed that I had to go through all of this to get a brand new gun to work but it seems good now so that makes me happy.
Using cheap ammo and a Vortex spark 2 (cheaper red dot) i can hit a 3 inch grouping of ten shots at 40 meters. The dot is bigger than the grouping at that point. :)

So a buddy of mine just picked up a new JR Carbine AR "Style" in 9mm.
Not sure I like it....but have not fired it yet. Feels and looks a little too plasticky for me. Not cheap either? ....but non restricted, just take it home and start adding crap on all those rails ! Anyone own one ? any input ?

Hardly any plastic on the JR!

i had all sorts of problems with my .40.... i called JR, they sent me the heavier buffer/spring, longer tube etc. last time i took it out i had zero problems.

i managed to get more slip2000, that is a great lube

The tip of the extractor On the bolt ? Or do you mean the ejector?

My .40 has worked 100% so far with manny different brands/types of ammo, but the odd case ejects in a different spot than the rest. A few marks around the ejection port as well.

The very tip of the silver extractor that is mounted on the bolt. The small "hook" that pulls the casing back out of the barrel. Not sure physically why this worked but it did.
Mine was jamming the last casing of every magazine. So one in ten jammed.

I have one in .40 S&W. Shoots well accurate, it is fussy on what mags it likes. JR had a tip regarding too much or too little force exerted to the front of the round by the follower. That being said NR, handgun caliber, and I can shoot it at my indoor range, the American $ did make it pricey.
