JR Carbines

Reaching out to my CGN brethren on the JR Carbines. I'm a rifle man, only ever shot centre fire, rimfire and shotgun. Now I am interested in pistol calibre carbines such as the JR.

As I have no experience in pistol ballistics, what are the benefits of the 9mm, .40 SW and the .45ACP.
What are the downsides?

I should add difference in cost effectiveness both commercial ammo or reloading my own. Also effective ranges and drop etc.

If its a JR go with the 9mm . The 40's & especially the 45's are having problems
I have a 40 & still trying to work the bugs out . Most guys with the new 9mm say they work great

My first gen 9mm runs like a champ. It shoots my cast boolits very well.

my .40 misbehaved for the first 500 rounds or so shooting PF 135 to 180 type ammo... A couple times out and a couple cleanings and oilings and and it's smartening right up with no actual real signs of wear. I'm beginning to really like it.

So for all intents and purposes the JR carbines sound like Remmy 597's

So would a CX4 Storm be a better buy??

Now for purposes of debate - all calibres shooting flawlessly, what would I want to go with 9mm, .40SW or 45acp

Im doing target shooting and gopher slaying. I reload my own ammo, which may factor into cost reduction.

The .45 shoots like a champ, those times when it actually goes bang when I pull the trigger. Apparently some guys have their .45's sorted and running well. I'm still not there yet.

I like the .45 because it's sub-sonic with most of the bulk ammo, keeping things a bit quieter. It also makes nice big holes. My .45 groups nicely to 75m, I haven't tried it out 100 yet....

I held out for the .45 JR. There were definitely some teething problems but it is running perfectly now and it is everything I hoped it would be. I am glad I bought it. Just be prepared for some tweaking.
