JR Cox comments on the Swiss Arms situation

Sorry but have to chime in on the TSE love in. This is the single most devastating event brought on by a member of the firearms community. It affects all of us regardless of the final outcome. The simple fact that it was a personal vendetta is inexcusable! JR is apologizing but all I see is damage control for a situation that was easily avoided.

While there may also have been personal feelings, how is it a personal vendetta, when a business, reports another business, for importing illegal firearms?

Hypothetically, would it be a personal vendetta of mine, if I were to report a dealer whom, I knew was importing illegal firearms, regardless of my feelings towards them. Are they not committing a crime, and tarnishing the Firearms Community as a whole?

Try to leave personal feelings out of it, if you saw a hit and run, would you report it?

Now, what if you saw a hit and run, and you knew the person responsible was someone whom you'd had a falling out, and no longer respected. Does this mean than reporting the hit and run is now a personal vendetta?

Haters gonna hate. By your rational the CZs are also been banned cause while the RCMP was reviewing the SA might as well do the CZs. Know the true enemy, C68/Firearms Act, don't let hate misguide your efforts cause the true enemy is NOT easily avoided, just a matter of time.

If a firearm comes in for consignment you can always send it away without calling the firearms lab of all people. That was a mistake they we'll all pay for. However, damage done, let's focus on ending the reclassification spectre.

And this excellent post made me realize that instead of going to my local MP's office to ask what he can / will do, I'll be going to ask what *I* do to keep him in office. My riding had been Lieberal since 1980. I'm going to make myself available to do whatever his office needs in the election in 2015. JFK: "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." I can work to keep it free from bureaucratic tyranny like that displayed by the RCMP this week!

That has absolutely nothing to do with your desire to avoid Canada wide boycott, and ensure that your firearms business does not go bankrupt.

I am sure that it has come straight from your heart, and not from your very capable lawyer that took few days to create this slick video response.

We are all so happy that you apologized, and do not mind in the least that we are losing thousands of dollars of our hard earned money.

There is not a doubt in my mind that you will reimburse all aggrieved gun owners for their monetary loses, you being outstanding member of Canada's gun owner community.

There is one question posed by another poster here, that has not been answered yet.

Could you find it in your very understanding and generous nature, to tell us what is next firearm you are planning to report to RCMP as too evil for us to own?

You definitely can't stop now, if you like to keep in good books with government as an outstanding corporate citizen.

We will get little annoyed at first, but if you keep your slick lawyer, I am sure you can churn another touching video attesting to your unquestionable integrity.

To date we have only heard that the two guns from TSE were the ones the RCMP took issue with, The one Mr Cox was worried about and made him contact the RCMP was a true semi auto we are told.

Do you know a different side of this story or some new information I missed to say Mr Cox was reporting a business for importing illegal firearms?

I own a 858, BRS99, plenty of AR, SKS, just to name a few. Whats next?

We all know all RCMP needs is a small excuse to ban. This excuse was served on a silver platter. They probably laugh when they got it from a firearm dealer...f:P:
 
Yup I for one live in Calgary and am done with the shooting edge I will never step foot in that store again, and not just because of this event I've had multiple run ins with staff who pretend they know what they are talking about when they have no clue I end up purchasing a product on behalf on the knowledge given from staff and when I get home my parts don't fit.
Twice this has happened. I mean if You don't know the answers to somethings don't make sh!t up and give people false information.
And than get this I go to return the item and they say no returns no refunds it's are policy. Well I have a policy too sh!tty service = loss of business.
And now this to top everything off
Yes my attitude towards them is crappy but I feel I have been wronged on more than 1 occasion.
 
Alberta beef tastes better than eating crow! As an optimist I would like to think he started a fight to make real change to our gun laws and open the eyes of Canadians to the abuse of powers of the RCMP. The ball is rolling and we must keep up the pressure. We must show the RCMP and the government that they have poked the sleeping bear one to many times.

i am impressed with this mans apology and his commitment to move forward on the issue.i for one do not believe there is any public safety issue with any firearm and hold the opinion that there should be no restrictions on any gun regardless of looks or action.the last time i spoke my mind on gun classification and those responsible for its enforcement i got a well deserved infraction . things have literally gone to hell since then. if we do not fight with our money, time, and voice on this present action by the rcmp we will have lost all our guns as there will be no stopping them .it is of utmost importance to pull together and leave behind any differences that we may have or we will end up with nothing to squabble over .i urge you to phone , write and visit your member of parliament , write the newspaper and generally inform every one you come in contact with what is happening . keep it civil and stress the fact that they are taking away legal property with no compensation. were is the public safety concern with these guns as i for one do not believe there is one . i look at this action as vindictive by the rcmp and not one of honest police work . if the rcmp was honest about this they would have to agree. i thank those members of the police force that have spoken out on this issue and realize the bind you find yourself in but i urge you to speak up as this is no situation to be proud of .it is about democracy and fairness to all citizens not just gun owners .
 
Right or wrong, good or bad, takes courage to stand up and try to save your butt and business
in public and face the music. Right or wrong, good or bad.
 
JR and his business took a lot of heat for this issue, and is taking responsibility for it. That said, I believe we will gain support from Canadians not involved in the shooting sports. By JR following the law and not appearing to be a criminal, which is what the RCMP would have made him out to be if he was caught sweeping this issue under the rug. I believe it would have made the gun community as a whole, businesses included, as a group that can not be trusted. Now the focus has been put back on the RCMP and their actions.
