Yeah okay… He's a coward and he's proven that by his video, absolutely pathetic. If he actually had guts, he would've put the video up many, many months ago when he did this... Period.
Why don't you tell the truth Mr. Cox? You got greedy because some body in Calgary brought in a similar firearm bought from the Shooting Centre, your ex business partner. You felt that you should be the only one selling this particular firearm and called for a reclassification.
You are causing a lot of good people a headache!
From now on I'll take my business elsewhere and will tell all my students to do the same!
Thx.

Please, don't hold back. Tell me what you really think....
I am telling the truth and I am sleeping fine (except for this damn jetlag).
You keep calling me greedy. Obviously neither of you have actually met me. You can call me a lot of things: Arrogant, pigheaded, opinionated and sometime (according to my wife) a bit bombastic. Any of those things and I'm guilty as charged.
But "greedy"... Sorry, wrong guy. I share and I share a lot.
I also have not been the importer of these firearms since about 2008. Since then, I have been a dealer like everone else, getting product from the official importer. There are literally hundreds of dealers in Canada authorized to sell the Swiss Arms rifles.
I had no real financial to gain by reporting the bogus rifles to the authorities. Even if the CSC lost the rifles, I am still not the only place in town to get these rifles.
Nor did I want a review of the classification.
What I do question is those of you that think importing dubious rifles, lying about the origins and then diverting blame is acceptable behaviour.
Was my motivation pure? Nope. Once I realized it was my ex-business associates playing loose with the rules, I lost sight of the bigger picture.
What I think is cowardly is those that are willing to easily dispense hate and vile on the internet hiding behind a user name. If you really want to stand up to me, with any credibility; write me with your real name on your real email address. Or better yet, come in and threaten me in person, not simply assault me verbally on a virtual board.
Since most of the "vocal" anti-JR posts come from locations coincidentally close to me, this should not be much of a burden.
I am over at IWA right now, but feel free once I am back next week to come and rant in person or on the phone to me. Until then, please keep the comments civil.
I am willing to take my lumps and have not asked anyone to censor the discontent, but the posts that purport fact that is actually fiction or misinformed opinions based on stories written by those simply with an axe to grind will not be tolerated.
There has been an all out assault on gun owners this week by the RCMP:
1. The reclassification of the SAN rifles
2. The reclassification of the CZ 858 rifles
3. The change in the definition of antique firearms
Is this a coincidence? Hardly.
Did I hand them an opportunity? Yup. Am I sorry? Yup. As stated, earlier, if I did not let my emotions get the better of me, I may have dealt with things differently, but I personally think the end result would still put us right here, right now. Except I wouldn't be the Justin Bieber of the gun world.... The guy to hate.
But if anyone thinks for a second that this was not coming regardless, I know of some beach front property in Arizona that is for sale cheap....
Summary:
1) call me what you want, but quit using the word "greedy" as it is not appropriate.
2) better yet, call me names in person as it shows me what kind of a man you really are.
3) this storm was coming.
4) we're here, now save some of the energies you have to be part of the solution. You can come in and pound on my desk once we've beaten back the true enemies.
Till then, I'm going to go on still keeping pressure on my elected officials with letters and emails to show them my personal resolve is not lessening and I ask you to do the same.
Once we get something concrete from the RCMP and the elected, we can then formulate a real gameplan and see where, besides a letter campaign we need to focus our energies and resources: both manpower and financial power.
Sincerely,
JR
