Is anyone holding off purchasing one of these in the current reclassification scare, or would it be better to just go ahead? I am also concerned for my M1 Garand.

I"m afraid I'm pretty much in this boat. I don't want to buy anything until i know what those jerk offs in parliment are up to. I'm interested in modern varminator or a modern hunter. But I have yet to order one.

I have 2 M14s and a JRA Garand. So I feel you. Considering the history of the garand, and how it's 8 round clip was given in exception to the 5 round magazine law, I'm hoping the garand won't have it's status changed.

I'm already committed. I don't see how they can prohibit thousands of lawfully purchased rifles or how central lockups could ever work but don't be surprised if a lot of rifles are added to the restricted list. The price of a good Lee Enfield could go up dramatically.

The importation of some firearms may be halted as well so getting one now may be your last chance before the price on an LRB goes way up.

To be honest I'm quite worried about the effect of the Cdn $ more than legislative changes....but as my wife points out I've been wrong before...;)

My grand fathered gave up a lot of his own toys out of fear. Now he stays at home and play computer all day. If you start living in fear all the time you will end up selling everything.

LRB, I understand, has entered into an agreement, (or is about to enter into an agreement) with Wolverine. They are (or were) looking for a cdn distributor. Wolverine is listed on the LRB web page as their CDN distributor.

The biggest factor holding me back is not classification, but the dollar.....

In fact I recently started a small business that specializes in M14's. The classification issue gave me pause, but I went ahead with it anyway!

But the dollar and ITAR regs are giving me fits when trying to find good parts!

I can take the credit for this. I was dealing with Joe at LRB and suggested Wolverine. The next time I spoke to him he had made contact with them.

As long as your commited to standing up for your rights, I say buy whatyou want. Join the CSSA and CCFR too if you have not yet.

You see this is where yo are living in lala land. We have no firearms rights. Stomp your feet and insist otherwise but it's not true. I have a prohibited FAL to prove it. Has not been fired since the early 90's. We used to use our AR15's wherever we wanted.

No lawfully obtained property has ever been seized in this country. That much is true. Prohibiting your rifles and pistols is well within the reach of the Federal government. Insisting on central storage may be possible too. Technically it would still be yours and not confiscated. I'm not telling you to roll over and play dead but realistically the majority of Canadians do not want you to have a handgun or military style semi auto rifle. We are a nation of progressive fags.

I have both JRA and LRB rifles. Both are very nice. Another good reason to buy now is the reduction of good USGI parts for them to build from.

I may be wrong, but as far as I know, in Canada, we have no "rights" to firearms, we have a "privilege" just like the driver's license is a privilege, and the land you live on.

There are now 470,000 persons in the country with RPAL's and this is up 50% from 2010, this tells me there is an increased desire for gun ownership in this country. The Ontario office people i work with here in Alberta, (in gov't BTW)the guys anyway, all enjoyed shooting and are very interested in obtaining their RPALS. I think the majority haven't actually thought about it much and i also think truly open minded people don't like being told what to do by the gov't anytime.

Nobody wanted our converted autos prohibited or our AR 15's restricted and that stopped nothing. 500,000 voters is jack squat in the big picture and scattered across the country in all ridings we don't represent enough voters anywhere to change things in the big picture. I also know professionals and coworkers that express an interest in obtaining RPAL licenses but none of them ever follow through. They think golfing is fun.

Recently that MP in Yukon was putting forward a petition stating that AR15's are no different than other semi autos that are currently unrestricted and therefore should be as well. I wrote him an email and told him to shut the F up because all that would do is draw attention to other rifles to restrict and prohibit. There is no way the Liberals are going to reverse firearms regulations. They brought the last batch in. Expect them to become more restrictive when King ###### stops posing for pictures and giving our money to the third world long enough to look at it.

For those of us a bit older we've watch society change so much (not for the better) in the last 40 years It's hard to believe. I can remember getting on the bus with a 22 and brick and going to a friends to gopher shoot. The driver asked if it was loaded and when I said no he turned and kept driving. Nobody ever considered messed up boys pissing in the girls washroom and bullying was part of life. The feminization of men is well under way. This is a progressive society of weaklings and if you don't fit that description you are one of the few. I'm afraid that private ownership of firearms will no longer be allowed at some point. Just look at the UK and Australia. Similar governments to our own. We do not have second amendment rights. If you have not been paying attention JT is doing whatever the hell he wants. Public opinion means nothing to him.

The Liberal Government has prohibited stuff and taken it, i have had it happen. No compensation at ll!!!!!
