My recently acquired 1943 I.B.M. mfg .30 cal M1 carbine:

WRA marked "GHD" inspected stock with cartouche.
Early flat bolt, flip site, early button safety.

That scope is night vision or IR i take it? Cool either way, and looks heavy and awkward.

Nice carbine. Apple would probably make weapons for the enemy. lol

Picked up this Colt New Service in .45 LC following a long-ish search.

Came with these funny markings on the bottom of the butt. ;)

Have wanted one for some time as my dad was a Mountie in the early 50s and would have carried one as a young Constable before they swapped 'em out for the Smith Model 10. Shows in the Phillips/Klancher book as one of 120 shipped to the Force in December, 1939.

Didn't come with a holster but picked one up online. In some sort of cosmic coincidence the underside of the holster flap is scribed with a regimental number less than 30 away from my Dad's reg. no. I'm now trying to find out if they were in the same troop at Depot.

It functions fine, I would say as good as any gen 1 that was produced in the 60-70's. Certainly nowhere near what is available now, but for the era, it is awesome

Picked up this little beauty. It's an SSD BD-44, but the furniture (forearm, butt, butt hardware, bakelite grips and grip screws) are off a WW2 original MP44.

Not really a milsurp, but wearing milsurp clothes :)

The M1 Carbine I got in April was made by General Motors.
It is a bit unique, in that the rear sight is in front of the action and the rear knob it later was mounted on, is knurled on this one.

That's because you now have a West German border patrol M1 carbine. It's a legit cold war variant. Don't try to re-convert it, you'll duff it up and ruin a decent and uncommon gun in the process.

Thank you very much for the info.
