With the exception of the proof marks on top of the barrel in front of the top wood, the following are the marks I've found on mine;
- Metal cap.
- On the bottem of the forend in the wood behind the cap "713" faintly marked.
- "No. 5. Mk. 1." marked on the left side of the receiver.
- On the left side of the band "England"
"1945"
and on top of the England it looks like "M4" was stamped. Below, very faintly it looks like "BF 5189"
- On the bottem side of the stock in the wood beside the trigger guard "T".
- On the left side of the front sight guard, "M/470"
- Last but not least,(serial# correction) "BF 5189", matching the # on the back of the bolt handle. Opps.
I've just recently acquired it at the gun show in Duncan this past weekend and have yet to shoot it.
- Oh, on the base of the front sight, "N67" on oen side of the blade and "03" on the other side. I have just taken a picture I can send if you wish, if you PM me your e-mail address. My posting skills...............
