A great number of years ago I aquired an un-issued Jungle Carbine complete with A.J.Parker sights. I got the gun from a surplus dealers who said he received it from the government as-is. I know the J.C. was and is famous for a "wondering zero" and that Paker sights were only installed on Enfields that had "target potential". Can anyone explain why these sights were installed on my little No.5. By the way the gun groups like a shotgun.

Cheers

The "wandering zero" came about because the MOD was making noises about equipping all of the army with the No5. When EVERYBODY ELSE was equipping their military with SLR's. They needed some "excuse" to stop the idiocy and get the FAL.

Unless the stock is warped, it will probably shoot better than you can hold it.

one of the most accurate stock millsurp rifles i have shot was a #5 . brother ownes it now. 1945 dated. was my fathers antelope gun. with factory WW 180s at 100 it was right around the 1" every time
