ok I have a real carbine hear with the lightening cuts
11/44 marks ....is this a date?
and there is a little green paint on it ......actually the barrel has been painted green under the hand guard

11/44 is Nov. 1944.

The green pain is a preservative to protect the rifle from the pacific climate.

Yep, I've yet to get mine out an dtest drive it...too many other toys..

I really have to post in the April Purchases section...been a few in Feb-March...
