9/44

STOCK:
FN5(Crown)Behine trigger guard

Under front stock Appears to read :4 M (Might be 4 W)

, This rifle is the nicest Jungle carbine I have seen yet .. So im just wondering what it would be worth.

IMHO the collectors value would be minimal unless there is a Jungle Carbine version of the EAL that I don't know about. Mods to a military rifle that are done after the fact often retract from its value as an intact piece.

As a "shooter"...the value of the rifle is a personal decision.

It might still be salvagable if it weren't for the new barrel and changed sights. Commercially it's worth the same as any bubba'd lee-enfield, 100 or so, it's probably more valuable as a moose backup.

Having been significantly altered, its collector value will be slight. You are obviously pleased with it as a hunting rifle, so that is its real value.

As said above, It wont be worth much to a collector.

However if its clean and mechanicaly sound, and you had a guy who wanted it as a kinda "hot rodded" military based hunting rifle (as you do it sounds like.), it may be worth a bitt more. perhaps $200.
My 2c.

Lee-lad.

sporter. :(

well it sounds nice but its worth the same as a No4 in the same condition.

but if its a nice sporter it might be worth $200 but not more then that.

is it still a .303 or was that changed too.

Any pics? My Jungle Carbine also has a Williams Peep sight. Many people are originality nazis, but I've always been willing to enhance things(think Bubba)...:D It wasn't me that changed the rifle btw, I bought it that way at Lovetts.

BTW, someone was selling a Jungle Carbine barrel on the EE a week or so ago. There was also a wood set I think.
