Some friends in the U.K. years ago rescued a overcoat and hat from a rubbish tip and sent them to me.
General Sir Ronald Forbes Adam, 2nd Baronet, GCB,DSO,OBE, KCB (1885-1982)
When he died, his wife sent his dress uhiforms to the regimental museum and decided to burn the rest. In WW1 he served in France ,Belgium and Italy where he recieved his DSO, OBE, and achievd his permanent rank of major
In February, 1940, he was given the task of organizing the Dunkirk perimeter.
He was then appointed General Officer Commanding-in-chief Northern Command
and in June 1941 he was appointed Adjutant-General which continued to the end of the war.
I just looked him up in debretts today to get a better copy of a rather small paper of that information

thats the only reason I decided to post this.

Years ago when the Ronald Reagan museum had a Exhibit on Queen Victoria, on display were a pair of her bloomers. Gave new meaning to the words "Queen size"
Now what made me envious was a set of Britains minatures of the Diamond Jubliee parade. Hundreds of 54mm figures! Everything from the royal carriage to the guards, to the police, and even to the boy scouts lining the route

John, it's because of things such as you have told us that a lot of us collect: to honour and preserve the history of our nations and of the truly exceptional men and women who made that history.

Thanks you for telling us of this.

And, whatever you do, don't class ALL of us with the occasional smarta$$ who has nothing better to do than mock the things which are not straight down HIS tiny little alley.
