I just recently bought a chinese sks. I am debating on leaving it alone or adding a stock. What is your opinion, even though I think a majority of you will say leave it alone. Also if I were to put one on, which one Tapco? Ati? Does ATI strikeforce take after market mags? That is enough questions, thanks for any help you may have!

First, enjoy range time with the original stock to see if you can shoot comfortable with it before replacing. Ofc if you want to add stuff, that's another story..

I left mine (chinese sks) "stock" for a bit to get used to it and see what I wanted to change, if anything. I ended up getting the tapco railed stock as I wanted a pistolgrip style, and the ability to add a scope.
Be warned, with the Chinese variant you may require *slight* modifications to the tapco to get everything to fit perfectly. It made the process take a lot longer for me.
Aesthetically, I like wood stocks better, but if you have longer arms or want to add a bunch of parts to it a replacement stock is the way to go.

Please research optics first, including SKS use with red dots.
Bottom line is there are very few mounts that hold a zero.
Drill and tap for optimum results.
Bc tactical rear sight leaf mount holds a zero for red dots.
BOTH options may require the ejector port mod as the spent brass (steel!) usually bounces off your optics. Bad news over the long haul.
Really think about what you want out of this rifle. It's a great battle rifle for its intended purpose. Not too much more.
Check the EE and notice many SKS's with all the plastic accessories for sale. They don't tend to move to quickly.
