Hi guys I am an avid outdoorsman with a love for hunting and fishing but at the same time technology! I have experience in the field of video and photo edidting. Lately I was thinking that due to the fact that i have the hardware and software for doing standard definition as well as hd video and photo editing that maybe I should start a little side business. This is just to get a feel for what people think ...not an advertising ploy. Some of the greatest hunters i know can take a picture but can't put it on a disc let alone with some serious pizzaz. My question is do you guys think that hunting video and photo editing might be a great way for outdoorsman to share their memories and for a guy like me to possibly make something work? Is this something that someone you know or yourself might use?

Just to clarify: what you are thinking of doing is offering to edit people's photos/videos for them? Not make your own videos for sale like for example Jack Brittingham does?

Yes I would be looking at making a list of possible editing options and taking the outdoorsmans pictures/video and putting it to disk with the extra added efffects and music of their choice to make it more enjoyable to view! Each would be like their own individual hunting movie, made to suit each individual.

Well it sounds interesting, obviously the number of customers would depend on the price, etc. People would probably be more motivated to tape their hunts if they knew someone like you would make a decent video of it. The danger with this type of thing is always that people may realize how easy it is and then do it themselves. But good luck!
The fact that they may find how easy it is would be a factor if it was indeed easy! In order to do what i can you need thousands of dollars worth of gear and a fair amount of software knowledge. Now i know someone may have edited a video b4 with windows somethin or other or the likes... but I mean the really good quality work, maybe i'll do a quicky demo in the next few weeks, see what people think!
