This may your day. I have in my hands a Charter Arms AR-7 Explorer. Has been shot to death, mag is bent pretty fubar. I do not know if the parts will interchange but I have a similar part that is made of plastic. If you want it p.m. me and it is yours. Free, gratis, mailed in a plain brown envelope.

Really? How so? I own three different .22 take downs and the AR7 is the bottom of the heap for me. Marlin Papoose, Ruger 10/22TD and the AR7.

Henry AR7 must be better then my Charter arms AR7. Its real picky with ammo, magazine had to be held a certain way to feed. Big bulky stock and skinny barrel to hold onto (papoose has same skinny barrel thing going for it). Marlin and Ruger much better accuracy and easier to find parts if needed

The Henryy version Will shoot anything from sub sonic to rounds off the ground. And I'm sorry but the 1022 is crap I broke so many parts on mine and constantly has fte and FTf which were not my fault I.e not cleaning. In a survival situation where space and weight would be a issue the ar-7 winds hands down. And if size and weight isn't a issue then just get your self a 308 and be done with it lol

I bought my Henry AR-7 used and so far I have only found that velociters are the ONLY round it will load. Everything else jams :(

What do you guys use?

For me the fastest I can find seems to work the best. We sure seem to have opposite firearm experiences. I would argue the exact opposite but we are not here to argue (I can do that with the ex).

I agree with millwright myself. I found it finicky with many ammo choices. Accuracy was medicore at best.
The only department it wins in, is space saving.
I'm thinking the Marlin Papoose looks like the perfect blend for survival situations.

my two bits
